Meet Alva

Name: Alva

Namesake: Thomas Alva Edison, U.S. Inventor

Position: Head of Research and Development

How He Got This Position: Alva was chosen to head up the Research and Development Division because his namesake, Thomas Alva Edison, displayed curiosity and creativity in his experiments which led to thousands of inventions and new products.

Duties Include: Creating new products (like Activity Books and Bookmarks) and expanding the original IMA Hero™ Product Line, developing new and exciting ways to continue making education fun, and overseeing the web site changes and updates.

What Alva would Like to Share with the Hero Clubhouse™ Members: When I was a young boy, I was very curious and asked a lot of questions to figure out how things worked. When I was six years old, I saw a goose sitting on some eggs, and then the eggs hatched. I tried hatching goose eggs myself by sitting on them. Although the eggs never hatched, I learned how and why goose eggs do hatch. My curiosity and persistency stayed with me my entire life, and I was able to invent many helpful items, including the light bulb, phonograph, and movie project. I'll be thinking about you the next time you TRY AN EXPERIMENT OR INVENT SOMETHING OF YOUR OWN. Good Luck!
