Harlequin Romance novelist Mary
Schaller, a.k.a. "Tori Phillips" will be in Gallatin July
14 to sign her latest non-fiction work Papa
Was a Boy in Gray, a collection of remembrances
of Civil War experiences featuring twenty-one living daughters of
Confederate soldiers, including Gallatin's own Lillie Vertrees Odom.
The Virginia-based writer will
greet visitors and sign books at Treasure Island Books on the Square
in Gallatin from 2-4 Saturday and she will be bringing a special
guest with her: Robert E. Bear from the imahero Collection
of teddy bears inspired by historical figures.
Schaller is a member of the
United Daughters of the Confederacy Chapter in Lexington, Virginia.
Her book tour in Middle Tennessee is being hosted by area UDC members
and members of the Order of Confederate Rose.
Come by on Saturday to meet
the spirited and multi-talented Mary Schaller. All hardback books
in the store will be 15% off regular price.
Refreshments will be available
next door at Govan's Gathering Place! Civil War artist David Wright
will display his works.
